MISSION

The author of the Eimeria Avia ® project is a Prof. Piotr Szeleszczuk. The project is dedicated to the memory of greatly deserved for the development of Polish poultry pathology Professor Michał Mazurkiewicz, a pioneer of research on poultry coccidiosis in the country. This initiative aims are to create a national platform to discuss the broad issues of birds coccidiosis. The project involves conducting regular technical conferences organized in the last week of February alternately by the Department of Epizootiology, Bird and Exotic Animals Clinic, University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw and Division of Avian Diseases, Department of Pathology and Veterinary Diagnostic Faculty of Veterinary Medicine WULS in Warsaw. Coordinators of organizational activities are, Associate Professor Andrzej Gaweł and Prof. Piotr Szeleszczuk. The leading goal of the project is to raise awareness of the invasion of coccidia in birds in environment scientists, veterinarians, zootechnical services, broadly defined feed industry, poultry producers, breeders of pigeons and pet birds. A special mission of Eimeriana Avia is to promote interventions to reduce losses caused by coccidiosis in intensive poultry production.
