MISSION

The author of the Eimeriana Avia ® project is a Prof. Piotr Szeleszczuk. The project is dedicated to the memory of greatly deserved for the development of Polish poultry pathology Professor Michał Mazurkiewicz, a pioneer of research on poultry coccidiosis in the country. This initiative aims are to create a national platform to discuss the broad issues of birds  parasitic diseases. The project involves conducting regular technical conferences organized in the second part of February alternately by the Department of Epizootiology, Bird and Exotic Animals Clinic, University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw and Division of Avian, Exotic Animals and Fish Diseases, Department of Pathology and Veterinary Diagnostic Faculty of Veterinary Medicine WULS in Warsaw. Coordinators of organizational activities are, Prof. Piotr Szeleszczuk and Professor Andrzej Gaweł. The leading goal of the project is to raise awareness of the avian parasitic diseases in environment scientists, veterinarians, zootechnical services, broadly defined feed industry, poultry producers, breeders of pigeons and pet birds. A special mission of Eimeriana Avia is to promote interventions to reduce losses caused by coccidiosis in intensive poultry production.
